Expecting Mothers

Congratulations!

Having a baby is one of the most exciting times in your life. Nothing is more rewarding than the privilege of caring for this new life and providing an environment in which both you and your child will thrive and develop. Choosing the pediatrician that can best care for your child is an important decision. At Bay Colony Pediatrics, we share your joy and enthusiasm and look forward to the opportunity in partnering with you on the exciting journey of raising a child.

Getting Acquainted
Please feel free to call or text our office at 281-614-2445 if you have additional questions about us. Or, if you prefer, call today to schedule a "meet and greet" appointment. There is no charge for this visit. Please make sure that we accept your insurance for the baby and know how to add your baby to the plan.

Upon Arrival
When your baby is born at an affiliated hospital, simply tell your obstetrician and the hospital staff that you have chosen Bay Colony Pediatrics as your child's pediatrician. Dr. Ramchandra has hospital priviledges at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake ( formerly Clear Lake Regional Hospital). Our office will be notified of your baby's birth by the hospital staff. Dr. Ramchandra will visit you there and examine your little one. Upon discharge, please contact our office about scheduling your baby's first visit to our office typically 2-3 days after birth. Of course we regularly see in our office babies born in all the regional hospitals like UTMB Galveston,  UTMB Clear Lake Campus (formerly Bay Area Regional Hospital), UTMB League City Campus, Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital (formerly St. John Hospital), Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, Bayshore Medical Center, The Woman's Hospital of Texas, and more.

Making Sure Your Baby is Covered

We recommend that you check with your HR department or member services to see how your individual health plan works, and to begin the process of adding your baby to the insurance.

If the newborn coverage period has ended, and the newborn is not showing active on an insurance policy, you will be responsible to pay out of pocket for the visit. This may also lead to a lapse in coverage for your child.

If your child has been added to an HMO, CHIP, or Medicaid plan, it’s imperative that you have Dr. Mahalakshmi Ramchandra or Bay Colony Pediatrics listed as your PCP.

If you have any questions or concerns, just give our office a call.
